8051SBC V1.1Wichit Sirichote, kswichit@kmitl.ac.th
New version 8051SBC Microprocessor Learning Board, PCB and schematic available now. Cool circuit for experimenting the Nokia 3310 with 8051SBC, making the tiny scope!
This new design includes brown-out protection and 20x4 or 16x2 LCD bus interface. Click here for Hardware and Software descriptions of the original version 8051SBC.

RS232 Cable straight wiring
This new straight cable for RS232 interface can find easily in computer parts shop. Both ends are male type DB9. The original version 8051SBC instead, uses a cross cable.

The AC input signal is tied to the simple level shifter, two 4.7k resistors connected in series. One end is tied to +5V and the other end to the AC signal. The ADC input, LTC1298 is tied to middle leg. This network will shift AC signal +/-5Vpeak to 0 to +5V. The experiment was tested with low frequency sine wave.

R2 to R6 limits the input current from +5V logic to +3V logic. D2 and D1 provide dropped voltage approx. 1.4V, the developed voltage across R1 will approx. be +3.6V.
